Keeping Our Boarders Safe with Homeland Security
Homeland security is also responsible for ensuring border security. It should be harder for non-citizens to enter the country, including by means of air travel, land and maritime transportation. Hundreds of miles of fences are built along the southern border as well as vehicle barriers, checkpoints and cameras to discourage illegal aliens from entering the United States.
Biological attacks are also monitored and detected by homeland security and health care professionals. A pattern of illnesses would be tracked and reported to communities, providing information and treatments. Other threats such as chemical, nuclear and radiation are just a few more aspects of what homeland security is prepared to detect and provide awareness for citizens.
